Waterloo

The city of Waterloo has a population of about 100,000.  This doesn't include the 20,000 or so students who are temporary residents.   It is the smallest of the three cities (Kitchener, Waterloo, Cambridge) in the Regional Municipality of Waterloo.
Originally, Waterloo was settled by Mennonites from Pennsylvania.  They purchased a large block of land here to allow them to stay together and practice their faith in freedom.  Many German immigrants settled South of this parcel of land in a hamlet that later became Kitchener.
