Kitchener

The City of Kitchener celebrated its 150th anniversary in 2004. KItchener has a predomintly German heritage and it used to be called Berlin. The City of Kitchener covers an area of 136.86 square kilometres and the population is about 205,000.
The cities of Kitchener, Waterloo and Cambridge have grown to such an extend that they share borders and have become one large metropolis.
Kitchener and Waterloo are often referred to jointly as Kitchener-Waterloo or simply K-W.  Including Cambridge the three cities are know as the Tri-Cities.
